FileMaker Pro 7.2 Advanced

This 1-day course builds on the fundamentals taught in FileMaker Pro 7: Basic. Students will learn how to create more complex field definitions and calculations, how to work with many-to-many relationships, lookups, and table data summaries, and how to design more efficient layouts. In addition, course activities cover advanced scripting, networking databases, and publishing a database to the Web. An appendix provides an overview of complex relationships.

On course completion, students will learn how to:

• Set field options to make data entry and values more accurate and efficient.
• Create many-to-many relationships.
• Control how field data appears onscreen and when printed via layout parts, sliding, merge fields, and field behavior options.
• Create and troubleshoot complex scripts with chained scripts, error checking, conditional code, and parameters.
• Share databases via a local network and the Web.

Target audience

Students should have attended ‘FileMaker Pro 7.2 Basic’ or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
