Illustrator CS Basic

This one-day course is for students who wish to learn the basics of using Illustrator CS to create graphics for use on the Web, in print or in other media. Students will learn how to:

  • Start Illustrator, open a file, and identify interface components; navigate in the artwork window; create, save, and close files; and close Illustrator.
  • Create rectangles, ellipses, polygons, stars, spirals, and flares; modify object placement and size; use the Paintbrush tool to paint objects; and create new brushes and symbols.
  • Create and edit simple and complex paths by using the Pencil and Pen tools.

Add colors, patterns, and gradients to objects; modify strokes; and copy paint attributes between objects.

Target audience
