QuarkXPress 6.5 Advanced

This 1-day course builds on the concepts and skills taught in QuarkXPress 6.5: Basic. Students will learn how to create multiple-page documents, place items using a library, flow type along a Bezier path, manage text and graphics on the page, automatically create a table of contents, use complex ink combinations, and enable color management. After completing this one-day course, students will know how to:

• Set up multiple-page spreads and place items efficiently, create a library and place library items, and evenly space and align items.
• Create and edit Bézier paths, flow type along a Bézier path, and create and edit clipping paths.
• Manually resize type, create runaround for graphics, convert type to boxes, precisely control leading, add special characters to text, and control horizontal spacing in text.
• Create a list, create a table of contents for a document by using a list, edit a list, create sections in a document, create a book, and modify the page numbering of documents in a book.
• Apply spot colors, create color blends, create multi-ink colors, and enable and use color management

Target audience

The target student for this course should be comfortable using a personal computer and Microsoft Windows 2000 or later. Students should have attended QuarkXPress 6.5 Basic or have equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
