Illustrator 10: Advanced

After completing this one-day course, students will know how to:

• Use the Tab Ruler palette and the advanced type features to modify text alignment, check the spelling and manipulate text on the artboard
• Modify shape and color objects by using the transform tools, the Pathfinder commands, gradient mesh tools and mask features
• Use filters and effects to change the shape, colors and texture of images
• Convert vector images to raster images and apply filters to create different effects on the raster images
• Work with a variety of file formats to save, link, embed, and export Illustrator files
• Add hyperlinks to artwork and save the file for the Web
• Automate repetitive tasks by creating actions; modifying actions by using nonrecordable commands, stop and modal controls

Target audience

You should be comfortable with the Windows operating system and have attended Illustrator 10 Basic or have equivalent experience. You’ll get the most out of this course if your goal is to become a proficient graphics professional and create illustrations for both print and Web.
