FreeHand 9 Intermediate

After completing this one-day course, students will know how to:

• Draw curves by using the Arc tool, spray objects on a page by using the Graphic Hose tool, use the Freehand tool, the Expand Stroke tool, and the Inset Path tool
• Use the Knife tool to cut paths, use the Align panel to arrange objects and join and trim objects using the Union and Crop tools
• Use transformation tools to scale, skew and create mirror images of objects. Find and replace objects, modify paths by using the Bend tool, and add points to a path using the Add Points tool
• Modify the shape of images by using the Fisheye Lens tool, the Envelope toolbar and the Transparency tool, and create different effects by using the 3D Rotation tool, the Emboss tool, and the Perspective Grid
• Create and modify blends using the Blend tool and smudge objects using the Smudge tool
• Join paths, make slits and mask objects
• Assign and remove shortcuts, add and remove buttons to and from a toolbar, and set Preferences

Target audience

You should have basic knowledge of FreeHand 9 gained through experience or attendance on a FreeHand 9 Basic course. Students should be comfortable using a personal computer and Windows 98 or later. Students will get the most out of this course if their goal is to use FreeHand 9 as a tool to become proficient graphics professionals and to create efficient and cost-effective illustrations for print and the Web.
